Sustainable Farm

One of my coworkers at SEDAC has an aunt that has an intensive grazing farm similar to Polyface. I was very excited to visit this farm. I want to start a similar operation in addition to growing my own heirloom vegetables. I don't know why but I think chickens are so cool. They are like little velociraptors when they run. After seeing the farm I wanted to get a dozen eggs. I got to pick them out fresh that day!! Beat that lame grocery store bought eggs. These eggs also had a very hard shell so they are pretty durable. At my visit I got to have pancakes and eggs (fresh ones :))

Here's some pictures of the farm:

Empty portable pens:

Turkey pen:

Previous turkey pen location. You can see how they mow down the area.

Laying chicken trailer:

Hairy feet:

Grazing Cattle:

Highland Cattle: (These guys are really cool. Nice and calm. Also do you like their long hair that is similar to dreadlocks? Also a couple jerseys.

Da bowl:

In person he is huge. This picture does not do justice.
